Week twenty-nine

= NACHT IST GEKOMMEN =

This is my first try in night photography. I must say that it was not completely dark when I took those pictures, but almost (around 22:00). One of the reasons not to wait was that I lack a programmable remote trigger for my camera (Or even not programmable). Due to that, I can’t take any picture at more than 30″ and it forces me to use high ISOs, which I would like to avoid. Even so I found it both curious and funny having to wait for the light to disappear, and later having to light paint the scene with a torch to reach the desired effect.

There are some important things to take into account: First, inspect the location before going there at night (this was my first mistake), it’s not that funny (neither safe) walking across the bushes with all the camera gear plus the tripod plus the torch. Second, better if the weather prediction is not of rain (second mistake here… ;-P). Apart from that, I found all the technical tips and advises at www.dzoom.org.es and at www.fstoppers.com.

I’ve really enjoyed night photography, so you can expect some other night pictures in future posts, as soon as I buy a programmable remote trigger…
